Golf DXB has joint forces with DASSA, DXB PE which Dubai’s largest school sport network. The group spans across 50 primary and secondary schools and organises fixtures, leagues and activations for a variety of sports.
This season Golf DXB has worked to build relationships with individual schools through taster sessions, which has been very well received and introduced thousands of youngsters to the game. Golf DXB Director Tom Green said that “The partnership with DASSA is a natural progression as we endeavour to involve golf more in the school curriculum across Dubai and that working with an umbrella organisation will help to increase awareness of golfing opportunities that we have such the UAE Interschool Golf League.”
Thursday 3rd of May saw the first ever DXB PE Golf Open Day which saw a great turn out with 50 children coming down to The Track, Meydan Golf for an afternoon of golf related activities. The students from Safa Community School, GEMS Royal Dubai and Raffles World Academy excelled in the putting, chipping and long shot activities and displayed great enthusiasm for the game. We are also very excited for future DXB PE activations with Regent International School and and Wellington International School.
From these sessions students have the opportunity to get involved and will be made aware of our UAE Interschool Golf League, giving these children the chance to represent their schools throughout the season in the Middle East’s largest golf series. Additionally students can also have fun improving their games further with Golf DXB through our award winning tiered ability sessions with sessions daily!
We would like to thank Ed Mosely from Sharjah English Speaking School for his involvement in the initiation of this partnership and looking forward to working with the DXB PE network next season for similar events as well as many other bringing golf to DASSA schools.
