UAE Nationals Dominate the Montgomerie Golf Tournament

Posted By

Golf DXB’s second Yellow Level Tournament of the term was held recently on the 6th December. The highly anticipated event was relocated to The Address Montgomerie and was a huge success! The foundation squad of the UAE National classes were invited down to the event to give them some further experience of tournament golf and to compete against other children in the game.

Upon invitation to the event, it was something special to see the enthusiasm and excitement shown by the players. We thrive off these sort of moments at Golf DXB and the love of the game shown by all who competed was amazing to see. The support from our parents was also excellent to see and I hope they enjoyed the event as much as us and the golfers did!

The countless hours the boys have put into their golf truly shone in the event and it was a great opportunity to put their new found skills into action.. Ahmed Marwan took first place with an excellent score of 35, closely followed by Abdullah Kalbat with 36. The two boys have been performing extremely well recently not only in their classes but in the International Golf Junior Championships. Abdullah Kalbat recently qualified for the IJGC finals and put in some good scoring.

The other UAE Nationals competing in the event also did very well. In fact, 8 of the 9 UAE competitors in the 37-man strong field finished in the top 11! This is a great achievement and they should be very proud of themselves. Next time we shall be bumping them up into the White level tournament. This involves the hole lengths being increased and opposing slightly more experienced and older children.
